Six Month Pictures

I took Hannah to get her 6 month pictures taken today. It is the first time we have gone to a professional studio and she did great despite missing her morning nap! These are the two that we purchased (although I probably could have picked them all!).

The blue dress is one that Chet and I picked up in Cozumel, Mexico about two years ago for the little girl that we would someday have. I love how it compliments her blue eyes!

Chet is out of town tonight speaking in California at a ProLife Organization Banquet. Check out his blog in the next few days to see how it goes (www.chetmcdoniel.com). Hannah and I are enjoying a quiet evening at home and some great girl bonding time!

A Great Find!

This past week, Chet's sister, Jennifer held her Just Between Friends consignment sale that she does twice a year. This time is the first time we have been able to shop and we found some great deals and cute outfits. This is one of our favorite finds of the week! (Thanks, Nana and Poppa!) Although it probably won't fit by next Halloween (even though it is a size 18 month!), she can wear it on some of our Disney vacations (and maybe, this year for Halloween!).

It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshinin' day!

Hannah and I have been taking advantage of the beautiful Texas weather
(and by beautiful, I mean not HOT!). She loves swinging outside!

We used her little pool for the first time this afternoon. She loved splashing around and playing with the toys. This girl loves to be outdoors!

Radar and Hannah bonding after our swim. He couldn't figure out why we would voluntarily be in a pool of water and would not come any further outside than this:

...And the 8th Dwarf, Hannah

Yesterday was our big day as we had tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Hannah was dressed as Tinkerbell, and was the talk of the Magic Kingdom. Every Disney Cast Member who saw her said that she was the most beautiful Tinkerbell ever. Even other park guests stopped us to comment on Hannah and her outfit.

We also got a chance to see our friend, Rusty Tugman, and meet his family. I led worship at a conference where Rusty spoke, and we learned then that we would be in Walt Disney World at the same time.

So, I know what you're thinking..."get on with the pictures"...well, here we go. Hannah started the day in a princess mood.

Even though we slept pretty late in order to be ready for the late party, Hannah still showed us all how easy it is to fall asleep.

As with any special party night, some Disney characters are out that aren't usually available during a normal park day. In our case, we got a rare picture with Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs...or, in this case...Hannah makes it an even 8!

Finally, while we never found Peter Pan, we did see Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. We thought our Tinkerbell made for a perfect shot with the villains from Peter Pan.

Please Daddy

We had a great time in Epcot yesterday during the day. We rode Spaceship Earth, and Hannah sat between Mom and Dad like a big girl. She was amazed by all of the colors and lights, and even fell asleep near the end because she was so relaxed. We went to see the Voices of Liberty (an amazing a cappella group), and many of them commented on how focused she was while they sang. While in Epcot, we found a Minnie Mouse that was bigger than Hannah. She decided he needed a kiss.

We then headed to Magic Kingdom to catch the parade again since she enjoyed it so much the first time. We rode the monorail, and the normal spiel announced that we were to hold onto the handrails if standing. Hannah followed directions:

While we were in a store at Magic Kingdom, Joni pulled a Tinkerbell doll down for Hannah and showed it to her. Hannah started laughing loudly and reached for the doll. Joni handed it to her, and she immediately cluched it to her chest. Joni told her she had to "ask Daddy." I leaned down next to her, and she reached up with both hands and grabbed my face. She stuck out her bottom lip and cooed. I decided then and there that I'm in trouble...she already knows how to "play" me at 6 months old. Did she get her way? I'll let the picture say it all.

We watched Spectromagic, and again, Hannah was enthralled. You can't see in the picture, but Mr. Smee (with lights all over his costume) is standing right in front Hannah dancing around.

We're headed to Magic Kingdom today and staying for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party tonight, where Hannah will be dressed like Tinkerbell. Watch out Peter Pan, here we come!

What Are Ya'll Feeding Me?

Walt Disney World is all about new experiences, so while we were waiting for Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade at the Animal Kingdom, Hannah decided she wanted a bite of what Mom and Dad were having....Lemon Chill. Here is her first taste of "real food"...

As you can plainly see, she wasn't a huge fan at first...but she reached for several more bites of that "awful stuff." During the parade, she was a bit overwhelmed, but did enjoy when Pluto came to see her.

After our day at Animal Kingdom, we met up with some friends and had dinner at Ohana, which is in Disney's Polynesian Resort. Joni packed a wonderful "Polynesian" outfit for Hannah, and in this picture, she looks like she fits in well with the theme. Maybe this will have to be where we go next. :)

While it was a HOT day, we had a great time. This girl is all about the hats...so, I'll leave you with more of Hannah getting into the Disney spirit.

Hannah Loves Mickey

We spent the day in Epcot today and ate at the Garden Grill with Mickey and friends. Hannah had fallen asleep right before we got to our table, but woke up as soon as Mickey Mouse came to see her. She decided Mickey needed a kiss, and he was happy to return the favor.

Soon, Pluto came by and Hannah got to see the biggest "puppy" she's ever seen. She and Pluto had a great time, and we got a great video as Pluto decided to play peek-a-boo with her.

We had another surprise as we got in line to see Turtle Talk with Crush. We were greated by three members of the Disney Dream Squad (for The Year of a Million Dreams). They explained to us that we were in the right place at the right time and had won Dream FastPasses for the day. Of course, Hannah was happy to win based on "taste value."

Disney World suits Hannah just fine. She's having a grand time, and we are really having a blast watching her interact with all the things to do and see in Walt Disney World. We'll leave you with one last picture of Hannah "getting in the spirit of Disney World."

Hey...You're Much Bigger in Person

Hannah had a wonderful day yesterday at the Magic Kingdom. First, she was amazed by Cinderella Castle. We saw a great smile there...

Then, we walked over to Crystal Palace to have breakfast with Pooh Bear, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore. We were curious to see how Hannah would react to the characters. She has a Piglet doll that she loves to play with, and Piglet was her first encounter with a Disney World character.

She and Piglet became fast friends. Her awe-filled eyes are precious when she sees these huge Disney characters. She liked Tigger, too...but at first, she was simply blown away.

We also rode several rides, and by far, her favorite was "it's a small world." Joni and I decided we could ride that all day long just to watch her expression. It was too dark to get a good picture, though. All-in-all, Magic Kingdom was a big hit with Hannah...and Mom and Dad loved it, too, of course!

Hannah's First Taste of Disney World

Well, we made an early flight this morning, and Hannah has gotten her first taste of Walt Disney World. Here is a video we took in Downtown Disney of how much fun she is having.

We are all exhausted, and heading to bed as soon as we can. Tomorrow, we visit Magic Kingdom and we eat with Pooh Bear and friends. Hannah's favorite stuffed toy is a Piglet doll from the Pooh Bear stories. We can't wait to see her reaction to "the real thing."
