Life is a highway
Chet and I had the privilege of being invited to a special preview/ media event to the new Cars Land and the Grand Re-Opening of Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort in California. It was an incredible three days to experience all of the new exciting things happening at Disney California Adventure Park, see friends, and have some time just to ourselves.
Cars Land is incredible. The town of Radiator Springs from the Cars movies comes to life in a life size replica with three new rides. Disney California Adventure Park was closed to the public one day during this preview event. With the limited number of people, we were able to ride six times on the e-ticket ride, Radiator Springs Racers. The town is even more spectacular at night, when the neon turns on just like it does in the movie.
Celebrities were everywhere. We saw Larry the Cable Guy (voice of Mater) and Gennifer Goodwin (from Once Upon a Time), and countless others hiding under hats and sunglasses. Big names in the Disney community were everywhere as well. Chet had a short conversation with John Lasseter. We even got to sit and talk with the Imagineer, Bob Gurr, who worked along side Walt Disney in designing Disneyland before it opened. We loved listening to his stories!
Definitely an amazing three days! I can't wait until we can go back again with our girls!

Part of the opening was the redesign of the front entrance of Disney California Adventure park. It is now themed to reflect California in 1923 when Walt Disney first arrived and includes real working red street cars.

Splash
Hannah's Field Trip Friday that she picked out of the jar this week was to visit the Splash Park. It was supposed to rain all day today but we woke up to sunny skies!
After the splash park, we headed to Papa and Nana's pool. She has been taking swim lessons all week and is doing a great job!

Summer Fun
Hannah's summer school/ camp program that we normally do, didn't get enough kids to sign up this year so they had to cancel it. We thought about finding another, but decided with our schedule this summer, it'd be best to just take a break. To keep busy, we are having Hannah's Summer Camp. Every week, she'll pick four popsicle sticks out of the jar to do that week. Each of the colors is a different type of activity: a craft, a treat, something crazy, and an outing. One day each week is Library Day.
This week, she picked Water Dropper Art for the craft activity. I filled the bottom of a pan with baking soda and dyed vinegar with food coloring. She used a water dropper to drop the vinegar on the baking soda. It was fun to watch it bubble up and leave behind fun patterns. The activity was such a hit that we did it twice!

Happy Sisters
In a rare occurrence today where both girls were happy and willing (and I had my camera out), I captured these precious moments between sisters. They do love each other so!
Definitely my new favorite pictures!

"Every move I make..."
Hannah's last day of school and program was yesterday. In years past, Hannah did not want to sing up on stage especially once she saw us. Not this year! She saw us as she took her place and waved. Not only did she sing, but she sang loud enough for us to hear. She even announced the name of the next song. Such a little ham!
She was in the caterpillar class this year. When I picked her up at the end of the day, she was so excited that she is now in the butterfly class!
