No More Broth!

We had a restless night from the incessant beeping of the IV machines, but nevertheless, Joni is feeling better today. The surgeon visited us this morning and upgraded Joni to "Full Liquids" which is a big step up from "Clear Liquids". Hopefully, these meals will have more taste and satisfy her hunger better. The doctor also ordered some medicine to help her digestion system get going again. Overall, he was very pleased with her progress.

Hannah Jane came to visit her mommy yesterday and is as beautiful as ever. Joni got to give her a bottle and cuddle with her for a few brief hours. It was very hard to say goodbye, but Joni says that being able to hold her was worth the pain of knowing Hannah couldn't stay here. We are still looking at being here until Friday at least so that they can fill her full of antibiotics to make sure the infection doesn't return.

Well, we are about to exercise some by walking around which is a great sign. I'd better get out of the way...Joni's multiple IVs, tubes, etc, make us quite the entourage! Thanks for your prayers, and please continue to pray for a speedy recovery!

  1. Joni and Chet,
Please know that we are so sorry for all your health difficulties and have been holding you up to the Father for healing. He is faithful! Was good to read your blog today and see that Joni is walking today!
Congratulations on beautiful Hannah. Love you, John and Anita

  2. Way to go Chet on keeping us informed and up to date! I'm impressed with all the blog entries lately! So glad to hear the good reports. We continue to keep you in our prayers and hope the rest of the week goes by quickly and Joni gets better by the day! Enjoy your "Full Liquids" now Joni! :o)

  3. Does "full liquids" include ice cream if you let it melt in your mouth before you swallow? If so let me know if you guys need a delivery:)

  4. Thanks for the update. glad to hear that Joni is improving. That's the problem with being in the hospial, you can't get any rest for all of the machines and nurse visits during the night. But some how you will make it and Friday will be here before you know it. Take care and next time Hannah comes to visit, give her a hug for me. Love Aunt Jane

  5. Chet and Joni,
We have been keeping up with you through your parents. You have been continually in our prayers. Hannah is gorgeous! Joni, I know you can't wait to get home and start taking care of your precious bundle. I know this time will just be a glitch, and you will soon enjoy spoiling your baby. Both of you enjoy your precious gift from God.
    Love you, Sherry and Howard

  6. I am so glad Joni is doing better! I love you both and will continue praying for you!

  7. I am so glad Hannah got to come for a visit and you are making progress! Keep it up!
